ESP FAQs

What is the difference between an off-the-shelf course and a bespoke course?

An off-the-shelf course (also called a ready-made course) is a mature course that we have developed over 39 years and produces the best results for most students in the shortest possible time.

A bespoke (also called a tailor-made course) is a course that is designed for a specified or ad-hoc need. Such courses are designed by us for organisations and students with specific functional goals or time constraints.

Can I request any ESP Topic for the bespoke ESP module?

Yes, ESP courses based on specific topics (modules) are all tailor-made. This is because the modules we offer in EFL topics cover the language needs of most ESP learners. However, some students and organizational customers will have specific ESP topic needs.

How are the ESP compact-course classes taught?

The 60-hour Compact ESP classes are taught:

  • online
  • In person – a dislocation fee may apply
  • During a short break (one month) in the UK
I have seen the acronym EAP somewhere. What does it stand for?

EAP stands for English for Academic Purposes. We do not categorise EAP separately as it falls under our general ESP curriculum.
